On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, hundreds of fans of the ultimate Plechová huba tasting competition met for the seventh time in the Futurum club in Prague. Lovers of chili peppers, hot sauces and other very spicy delicacies have traditionally had stalls with tastings of competition dishes and stands of sponsors and partners of the event. One of the organizers has prepared for you a short summary of the events of this truly devilish competition.

It might seem that Plechová Huba is just a brutal competition, but the reality is different. It is more of a happening, where it is possible to discuss chili, consult, exchange seeds, buy special sauces, and enjoy a pleasant afternoon with chili.
What did it look like in Futur? The closest to the stage, visitors could try the competition dishes. Ladies with hell cakes Carpe Diet and the publisher of the book How to grow chili, Mr. Krejčík (otherwise it's our editor Mr. José). On the other side of the hall, guests had the opportunity to buy new flavorings for the kitchen at Pochutnejsi.cz, Laky's chili sauces and Ondřík's chili.
Honza from Chilli Seeds also supported us with his presence, where they are the only ones in Prague (I dare say) honest spices, even for real Indian vindaloo, and mainly sell it by weight, for which they have a big plus. So if you want to try a new dimension in the kitchen, don't be afraid to peek into Luxembourg, not far from Flora. This year, for the first time, the Tin Mushroom was supported by Chillisos sauces. For the first time, the cans were also attended by gentlemen from the Chillipoint restaurant, which can be found in the center of Prague in Havelská Street.
After completing the necessary administration, we seated all 20 competitors at the tables. As is our custom, 14 courses were prepared in the kitchen. The first rounds are warm-up and we are still not afraid to refer to them as gastronomy. Cupcakes, pickled habanera, limited edition Laky's sauces Tin mushroom, Indian butter chicken, traditional Vietnamese Pho Bo Tai soup were served.
Next in line was a hellish ship with a deck smeared with Pain 100 % sauce and a sail made of Trinidad moruga scorpion.
This was followed by pulling food from Damian's bucket of misfortune, to which we added 40 % misfortunes more than the hats we used in years past. Gastronomy also jumped with a bucket and pure masochism began.
We brought down the already thin rows of competitors to one table and brought them the beautiful 7pot Primo with a hotness of 1.5 million SHU. The contestants did not get even a moment to rest and already had another hot charge in front of them, this time vindaloo carama with an extreme amount of peppers and extracts with a final hotness of around 6 million SHU. Devil's tail blood, tomato juice with 6 million hot extract, is the only dish (or rather a drink), which has been in competition since 2010, the last sauce served in the competition was Mad Dog 357 Scorpion, made from Trinidad moruga scorpion peppers.
The next two rounds were in the spirit of pure extracts, the strength of which on the SHU scale often exceeds the commonly used pepper sprays. The penultimate came Extreme Prejudice with 1.5 million SHU (editor's note: Doesn't it suit you that the burning rate has decreased in the numbers for the next round? It also seemed like a mystery to us, but we got the explanation that eating pure extract from a spoon is a much more brutal affair than eating a pepper or a dish.).
The last extract administered was Biohazard with a crazy 6 million SHU.
The winner of this crazy competition and the holder of the title Sheet Metal Mushroom for 2015 was Dan Všetečka, who, although he started as a substitute, showed incredible endurance. For the organizers, we take off our hats in front of everyone involved!
Unfortunately, the gladiators did not fight their way to the fourteenth and last round (perhaps fortunately for them) and left the possibility of tasting the Biohazrad Extreme, which was poured in the Trinidad moruga scorpion pepper, to the volunteers from the spectators. However, no one dared, so Jitka, one of the organizers of Plechová huby, took the pepper with the 9 million extract. You can see how she looked after one of the photos. We believe that the spectators and competitors enjoyed Plechovka and we are looking forward to the next year.
